Over the recent years, China’s electronics manufacturing industry has been developing rapidly, and digital intelligence innovation has become the core driving force for the growth of the electronics industry’s supply chain. According to statistics from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China’s electronics manufacturing industry above designated size registered operating revenues of about 15.1 trillion RMB in 2023. In the first half of 2024, the industry’s added value increased by 13.3% year-on-year, with operating revenues reaching 7.37 trillion RMB.

As an essential part of the domestic manufacturing industry, electronics manufacturing involves a wide range of fields with a long supply chain and a high degree of global division of labor. It represents the global competitiveness of China’s manufacturing industry. According to the Demand-side Market Research Report on Digitalization of the Yangtze River Delta’s Manufacturing Industry released by the Digital Economy Research Institute and IPSOS, electronics manufacturing’s core value chain comprises design, research and development, and large-scale production, characterized by fast technology improvement and production capacity iteration. In terms of digitalization, the industry’s penetration rate of digital design/R&D tools is as high as over 80%; its numerical control rate of key production processes, digitalization rate of production equipment, and networking rate are higher than other industries.

WOD The Electronics Manufacturing Digitalization Summit is expected to bring together leading organizations, enterprises and industry experts in the digital transformation of the electronics manufacturing industry. In-depth discussions will take place on how to leverage cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analysis, virtual simulation, digital twins, software and hardware integration, machine vision, smart logistics, and AMR/AGV in a bid to promote innovation and practice in the core aspects such as advanced manufacturing, flexible production, comprehensively optimized management, intelligent operation and maintenance, and sustainable production.
